Maha Shivaratri is an annual festival celebrated in honour of Lord Shiva. This festival marks the remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance in one’s life and the world. It was on this day that Lord Shiva drank the Kalakuta poison that emerged during the Samudra Manthan, to save the earth and its inhabitants. Thus, the festival resonates the compassion, love and grace of the Bhagavan towards His devotees.
