Maha Shivaratri 2023

Maha Shivaratri is an annual festival celebrated in honour of Lord Shiva. This festival marks the remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance in one’s life and the world. It was on this day that Lord Shiva drank the Kalakuta poison that emerged during the Samudra Manthan, to save the earth and its inhabitants. Thus, the festival resonates the compassion, love and grace of the Bhagavan towards His devotees.

Chinmaya International Foundation will celebrate Maha Shivaratri at Adi Sankara Nilayam (maternal birth-home of Sri Adi Sankaracharya) on 18 February 2023 (Saturday) with Chatur Yama Puja. In each Yama of the night, Sri Samba Paramesvara will be worshipped with Rudrabhisheka, Shodashopachara Puja, Chantings and Bhajans.

We invite all devotees to be a part of this worship and be blessed by Bhagavan.

This puja will be LIVE streamed on Chinfo Channel (YouTube) from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM IST.

On this auspicious occasion, you can participate by offering pujas online.
