Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) is conducting Adi Sankara Jayanti Camp from 16th to 21st May, 2021 at Adi Sankara Nilayam, the maternal birth-home of Sri Adi Sankaracharya, the great Guru and the proponent of Advaita philosophy. The auspicious occasion of Adi Sankara Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Sri Adi Sankaracharya, will be celebrated on 17th May, 2021 with special pujas. The camp will have sessions based on Dakshinamurti Stotram and Laghu Vakya Vritti facilitated by Swami Viviktananda and Swami Advayananda respectively. The camp will be conducted in both onsite and online modes.

The camp will have sessions based on Dakshinamurti Stotram and Laghu Vakya Vritti facilitated by Swami Viviktananda and Swami Advayananda respectively. The camp will be conducted in both onsite and online modes. The video recordings of the sessions will be made available to the online campers up to one month from the culmination of the camp.
Dakshinamurti Stotram is a hymn composed by Sri Adi Sankaracharya dedicated to Lord Shiva. Though the hymn contains only ten verses, it holds an array of arguments, assertions and negations that clarify the confusion seekers have and guides them to reach the goal of spiritual Realisation through the practice of upasana.
Laghu Vakya Vritti is a short composition by Sri Adi Sankaracharya. The text comprising of 18 verses is a concise version of his another treatise Vakya Vritti. The text expounds on the meaning and implication of the Mahavakya – ‘Aham Brahmasmi’, which deals with the unity of the individual Self and the supreme Brahman.
Facilitators
Swami Viviktananda is the Regional Head of Chinmaya Mission Kerala. He completed his Vedanta Course from Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai, Mumbai in the year 1975. He currently serves as the in-charge of Chinmaya Mission Kasargod and is also the President of Chinmaya International Foundation.
An accomplished teacher of Vedanta, Swami Advayananda (In-charge CIF) has authored several books and courses at CIF. Swamiji was part of the team that researched and coordinated the Upanishad Ganga tele-serial, which was broadcasted by Doordarshan. He served as Acharya for two Vedanta Courses – the first in Tamil-English at Sandeepany Vidyamandir, Coimbatore and the second in English at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai. In the last decade, CIF has significantly expanded the publications and research work under Swamiji's guidance.
